When I started working on my art I wanted to differentiate myself from the work, but slowly and fiercely the name has come to represent who I am today much more then my original one.
Like my name, my images are not depictions of the truth; they are fantasies and obsessions, constructed myths. Visions from the dark opera of my mind. Partially from this world but mostly from the smoke and mirrors of my sub consciousness. They are the archetypes that dwell in the complex of my creativity.
The mythological constructs are as much Gods and Goddesses of my own inner self as they are works of personal art. My central theme for the past 8 years has been the Hieros Gamos or sacred union. While the ritual might be called by different names, it is a central theme in various world mysticism as well as the occult. At its most basic, it represents the awereness of, search for and eventual return to the Monad or One. A process of taming the rough seas of a fractured global psyche.
In my art we see these characters and constructs re-visualized through my own personal interpretations and experiences. In essence i have gathered inspiration from the story yet the narrative i present is one of my own making. My Hieros Gamos is an internal apocalypse. Like the monad, i have fractured myself only to allow the various gods and goddesses to pose for a photograph.
More than anything my images depict a struggle of opposites. The dichotic amalgamations of light and dark, man and woman, innocence and perversion, truth and lies.
