My starter was Charmander. The app wouldn't load for me correctly at first and it looked like I was standing in the middle of the ocean. Charmander loaded first. I didn't even know I could pick a starter until I saw someone else start their game (and get stuck because none of the starters responded). At the time I just thought it was lucky that out of the three, Charmander appeared, because that's the starter I would have picked anyway. Sorry for the poorly taken picture, I was in a hurry to catch him, thinking he could get away, his name is Ryo.

The only other Pokemon Go I've named is an Eevee called Foxy (Sparky until he evolves, though that's usually what I call my Pikachu). Pikachu is my favorite, but they're not really abundant. Eevee is strangely abundant so I'll probably end up training one of those and hopefully evolve it into a Jolteon. Naturally, I joined the electric team, that should surprise no one.

Here are a few pics, not all the pics I've taken, just a few. I've caught 55 so far, which isn't a lot since I haven't gone out to look and have instead just caught the ones that coincidentally ran into me. Part of the reason for this is because there are few pokestops in my area, so there aren't a lot of places to go anyway. I have 17 Pokemon on hand, since I've used most of the other for candy to evolve. The servers are still a bit buggy, but I'm hoping this improves and Pokemon become more abundant in the future.

I didn't know about the starters either. I should have picked pickachu or charmander, but I picked first pokemon i saw which was Bulbasaur. I regret that starter.

Pikachu isn't available or I would have totally started over for it. The starters were Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. I have my starter Charmander and caught a wild Bulbasaur.

I still have yet to catch ANY fire pokemon. I get so annoyed when old pokemon I already catch pop up. I forgot the limit you need when you can evolve them. I have about nine Doduo's and I thought they would evolve considering you need at least nine for the others to evolve. I need ONE more eevee (th...View More

The evolution depends on the number of candy. If you check the pokemon's stats the evolution option will light up when you can activate it. You can also trade your repeats for more candy.
Leah
how do you trade repeats? You mean trade old pokemon for candy? I'm pretty new at the game. I haven't been crazy over it since I was a little kid.

Open the pokemon stats and choose to transfer it to the professor.
