Redesign, Mobile App and Privacy Update

Hello everyone,

Over the passed few weeks Artrift has undergone a major update.

Redesign

The site is faster and more secure than before. This has all been done in preparation for a new mobile app which will be launched by the end of September!

Stickers and emojis can be used in comments. More will be added soon.

A new video section is being redeveloped for the site too.

Privacy

A huge concern for people on Artrift is their privacy. Quite a bit of time has been spent updating the privacy settings. Now you can control all aspects of your privacy!

Our terms and conditions, privacy and cookies policies have been updated.

One important note. Your content belongs to you! If Artrift ever wants to use your content for promotional purposes, your permission is needed first. As an artist, it's important that the ownership of your artwork is respected.

Facebook Privacy Sucks

Hey all,

So it's come to a point on Artrift where I've decided to disable Facebook Connect. If you don't know what Facebook Connect is then read on.

A site that has Facebook Connect enabled allows you to login to that site with your Facebook details. Basically, it imports your FB profile on to the new site that you have logged into.

So why have I disabled Facebook Connect?

It's simple, BECAUSE FACEBOOK'S PRIVACY POLICIES SUCK. Facebook isn't exactly a free service. You pay for the services on Facebook with your privacy. The same can be said for Google Plus. Facebook and Google privacy policies are always changing. That means you don't always know what these big companies will do with your privacy. And let's be honest, who likes reading through a really long privacy policy on a website...

I believe that the information you provide on Artrift is yours! Nothing that you upload belongs to Artrift, it's your art work and your information so it belongs to you. This is not MY website, this website belongs to everyone in the community.

I am currently fixing the problem and will have it solved by Tuesday 26th February 2013.

Artrift v2 Site Design

Hey all,

As you have seen the new design of Artrift is a lot different and I am still currently fixing a few bugs up here and there.

Here is a brief run down on what has been added/improved:

* Add a cover image to your profile to make your profile more unique.
* Improved profile design and customization will be released at the end of July 2012.
* Every week the background of Artrift will change, each background will be a selected image from the pictures which have been featured in the past.
* Sharing content and links can be done straight from your status update box.

As Artrift grows there are a lot more features that have been developed but won't be released until we have more Artists on our little community. So please let your friends and fellow artists know about Artrift!

What do you think of the new design? Is there anything else that can be improved?

Please let me know because Artrift is everyone's site. I want to give everyone all the features that can be found on PREMIUM (payed sites) for free.

Artrift Events and Market Place

We have 2 new awesome features on Artrift which are ready to be launched.

Artrift Events will let you create events and invite your friends to let them know if there is something happening in the area. You could invite fellow artists to a convention. You can keep track of all the events they are hosting or plan on attending.

Artrift Market Place lets you create a listing in your Marketplace if you want to give away or sell something to the community.

Artrift Symphony - Online Drawing Application (beta)

We are proud to announce that Artrift Symphony Beta version is online.

Symphony is an online drawing application that allows you to draw right in the browser. Symphony will work with the iPad, iPhone and Android touch screen phones.

We are now testing Symphony and you can also give it a try!

SPAM!!!!

So Artrift recently had an issue with SPAM. Fortunately we have a system in place that if someone reports spam any of the admin users will get a message on their cellphone and they can delete that user instantly.

SPAM is something that all websites have to deal with. It's a biatch. But We will always try our best to irradicate SPAM. So if you report it, then we will terminate it.
